Job Summary

Providing support for ensuring security of the premises, people and property there-in

Duties

Security of premises

• Ensures security of the premises, property and authorized persons therein.

• Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Human Resource and Administration, or his/her designate.

Security of property

• Ensures safe custody of all items under his/her care.

• Checks and ensures that no NAFOPHANU property leaves the premises without proper authorization and clearance.

• Ensures that all windows and doors of the premises are securely locked after working hours when the authorised users leave the premises.

• Promptly reports any damage to or loss of property under his/her care, and any other issues of related concern.

• Assists in loading and off-loading NAFOPHANU materials, and organizing stores.

• Inspects all parked vehicles to ensure they are in good order and promptly records and reports any missing parts or suspicious condition.

Security of people

• Checks and records every entry and exit of staff, visitors, vehicles, baggage/luggage, and equipment or machinery therein.

• Receives, regulates entry of and directs visitors to the reception and other relevant offices.

• Ensures that no trespassers gain entry into the premises under his/her custody.

• Monitors and reports any unusual/suspicious persons, movements or incidences within or around his area of jurisdiction.

• Stands by to open and close the gate for all authorized persons and vehicles.

• Responds to and immediately reports any persons or situations that appear to threaten the safety and security of persons and property under his/her

responsibility.

• Keeps alert at all times while on duty and patrols the assigned area regularly.

Records & reporting

• Receives and forwards any mail and other items delivered at the gate.

• Promptly reports any damage to or loss of property under his/her care, and any other issues of related concern.

• Ensures proper handover and takeover of responsibilities when on duty.

Minimum Qualifications:

• O-level certificate of education or equivalent and fluency in English are essential.

• Training in the Police, Military or any other recognised security organisation is desirable.

Experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years carrying out guard services in a reputable organisation.

Personal Attributes:

  • High integrity, hardworking, courteous, dependable, punctual, tidy and well-groomed.
  • Willing to work long hours in challenging circumstances when required.
  • MUST provide a letter of recommendation from the Local Council I Chairperson of area of residence
  • MUST produce a recommandation letter from current employer
  • People Living with HIV (PLHIV) are particularly encouraged to apply
